Building Communities. Providing Hope. Saving Lives
Mission Statement: The IEEE PES Community Solutions Initiative seeks to develop extremely affordable open-source electric energy solutions for developing country communities and to support locally owned micro-business development to reach a significant portion of the unserved electricity population in each country of deployment.
Dr. Robin Podmore, IncSys President, is co-chair of the IEEE PES Community Solutions Initiative and is dedicated to developing and deploying solutions for developing communities around the world to help bring safe, affordable power to the nearly 2 billion worldwide with no access to electricity. For two decades, IncSys has provided innovative training tools so that operators can learn and effectively perform power system operations. IncSys is passionate about using its expertise in training to help developing-nation entrepreneurs install and operate micro generation and load distribution systems.
"In engineering, we must realize how to develop distributed and renewable generation solutions that are scalable, maintainable by local talent and fully integrated with central generation solutions. In education we must develop a method to train the next generation of systems engineers from both developed and under-developed countries. We must integrate a multi-discipline environment into sustainability - from electrical, mechanical, civil, aeronautical, chemical and hydrological technologies, and add a multi-cultural approach to training and leadership, if we expect wide scale deployment and acceptance." - Dr. Podmore
